LAS VEGAS—Pratt & Whitney Canada’s PT6 E-Series, the first general aviation turboprop with a dual-channel integrated electronic propeller and engine control system, has passed the 500,000 flight hr. milestone after only five years of service.
The aircraft powers the Daher TBM 960 and the Pilatus PC-12 NGX/PRO and with over 700 engines in operation is the only turboprop certified to fly commercial passenger missions aboard single-engine aircraft in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and North America, P&WC says.
The dual-channel integrated electronic propeller and engine control system enables single-lever engine control, reducing workload and improving efficiency. The initial E-Series was introduced with the launch of the PT6E-67XP variant for the PC-12 NGX in 2019.
